Face winter head on with a refreshing cleanse and detox

Improved mental and physical well-being, and a delightful sense of refreshment are normal responses and the common reason people choose to cleanse and detox. Spring and fall are the most common time of year to take the challenge. October is a great time to choose one that not only fits well with your goals, but that you're able to commit too.

Ridding the body of parasites first or while doing a whole body/colon cleanse, liver or heavy metal cleanse makes sense. In the liver, they can block the increased flow of bile meant to sweep the liver bile ducts clean. And while doing an intestinal cleanse you just want the job done right!

One Hour Detox

When your immune system is compromised or you just feel in need of a quick detox, there are simple ways to sneak in refreshment that takes an hour or less.
  • Try getting a massage, it will help break up the toxins that are storing up in your muscle, then be sure to drink plenty of water to flush out those newly released toxins.
  • You may not have the luxury of a sauna but a hot bath helps refresh and detox. Especially when you add Epsom salt, baking soda or ginger powder. Ginger will help open your pores and the salt and baking soda help draw out those unwanted toxins. Be careful when standing up out of the tub as a quick detox can make you light headed. Drink a large glass of purified water with fresh organic lemon juice.
Make Every Choice Count
Cooking for a growing family and trying to detox and cleanse at the same time is challenging.        Most likely many of the foods you would like to focus on will not make a happy family if you serve them for dinner.  Just by sneaking in a few common kitchen staples, you can help your body detoxify. Garlic and onion are great for cleansing, as well as the digestive system and go well with a liver cleanse. Choose to add a super food item or two to your daily diet. Avocados, raw walnuts or almonds and coconut oil are great! For added fiber, reach for celery, oatmeal, apples, pears and raspberries. Replace the sugars in your diet with organic fresh or dried fruit. Drink herbal tea instead of soda or coffee and add as much fiber as possible to your diet. As an added benefit, many people experience a change in the foods they crave or unhealthy cravings disappear after a quality cleanse.

Get Some Sleep
We often lose sleep over a busy schedule or a busy mind. Getting enough sleep is crucial to your immune system and general wellbeing. When your body is rested, it recovers faster, and you naturally fight those tox
ins off. Take a natural sleep aid such as Bed-Time Drops, or Stress & Sleep, if necessary, to fall asleep and stay asleep. You can get those restful nights without feeling drowsy the next day.

Replenish with water and flora support
Water works wonders in the body. Try to drink half your body weight in ounces. If you weigh 150 pounds, you should drink a minimum of 75 oz.,  or 9 glasses of water per day. It is also better to drink smaller amounts throughout the day rather than large amounts a few times a day.
