Simple Ways to Help Your Liver

 · Eat garlic or take a garlic supplement. Just a small amount can activate liver enzymes that help flush out toxins.

· Have grapefruit often: it’s fresh juice boosts natural liver cleansing action.

· Avoid alcohol and over the counter medications: These are difficult for the liver to process and many are damaging or decrease liver function.

· Walnuts are liver friendly. Holding high amounts of the amino acid arginine, walnuts help the liver detoxify ammonia. Walnuts are also high in glutathione and omega-3 fatty acids. These support normal liver cleansing actions. Make sure you chew the nuts well before swallowing.

· Limit exposure to viruses, bacteria and parasites by washing your hands thoroughly and frequently. Fresh fruits and veggies should get the same treatment before you eat them.

· Take Vitamin C: a University of Michigan  study indicates doses as low as 500mgs a day can help prevent fatty build up in the liver.

· Do regular parasite cleanses: Infestations can spread to the liver and become deeply embedded, clogging bile duct drainage

· Leafy greens: powerful in cleansing the liver, leafy greens can be eaten raw, cooked, or juiced. High in plant chlorophylls, greens neutralize toxins, heavy metals, chemicals and pesticides in the blood stream. Try adding dandelion greens, spinach, mustard greens, and chicory into your diet. This will help increase the production and flow of bile in the liver.

· Citrus fruit: is high in Vitamin C and very stimulating to the liver.
